Schipper Construction Co. has constructed or renovated many of the landmarks across Santa Barbara and the Central Coast. We have partnered with healthcare, arts, education, high tech/clean rooms, commercial interiors, historical renovations, and hospitality. We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator who is passionate about their craft and thrives in a collaborative team environment. This role is responsible for preparing estimates for commercial projects in Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas. This is an in-office position, and candidates must reside in Santa Barbara or Ventura County. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Position Overview:

The Estimator projects construction costs by collecting and studying information. The ideal candidate will have previous Estimator experience, strong relationships with local subcontractors and a passion for craftsmanship and client satisfaction. Job Duties (include but not limited to): Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, setting priorities. Prepares construction budget by studying blueprints; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation. Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price. Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information. Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains quality service by following organization standards. Maintains continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum three year's experience in construction estimating

Desired:

• Bachelor degree in Construction Management or work experience in the related field
• Sage 300 knowledge

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $85,000.00
