Job Description

Jakks Pacific Inc. is a leading designer and marketer of toys and consumer products with a wide range of products that feature some of the most popular brands and children s toy licenses in the world. We are currently seeking a Cost Engineer for the Santa Monica office. Responsibility Collaborate with the Design team to review concept sketches and provide cost guidance during the early product development stage. Develop and maintain product cost estimates, and validate costs throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production. Partner with the Asia Engineering team to analyze product designs and optimize material selection, manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production efficiency to achieve target costs. Review factory quotations and cost breakdowns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to achieve brand margin and profitability objectives. Work cross-functionally to identify and evaluate alternative design, material, or manufacturing solutions when target costs cannot be achieved. Maintain accurate cost models, historical cost databases, and cost benchmarking information to improve forecasting and support future product development. Estimate, validate, and optimize tooling costs to ensure projects remain within approved tooling budgets. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent degree. Minimum 3+ years experience in similar product development roles. Toy industry experience is valuable but not a must.

Compensation :
JAKKS Pacific offers a competitive salary. Compensation for this role commensurate with experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $70,303.92 - $75,000.
