Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.

This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nations space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements.

As an Estimating Assistant, you will support the estimating team by gathering project data, preparing documentation, and organizing information needed to develop accurate cost estimates, bids, and proposals. You will collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and internal partners to maintain documentation, support decision-making, and contribute to efficient estimating processes that guide project planning and execution.

ScheduleThis position follows a 1st shift schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities Gathers and organizes project specifications, drawings, and documentation for estimator review. Inputs data into estimating software or spreadsheets to support accurate cost estimates and pricing proposals. Supports preparation of bid packages by organizing and formatting documents, drawings, and specifications. Maintains records of project estimates, bids, and related correspondence. Organizes and archives project files and documentation according to company standards. Updates databases, spreadsheets, and tracking systems to monitor bid activity and performance metrics. Liaises with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve estimaterelated queries. Participates in meetings to provide input and support estimating and bid strategy discussions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in an administrative or support role within a manufacturing or estimating environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners. Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving abilities. Adaptability and willingness to learn new software, tools, and processes. Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.

Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
