Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements. Prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing projects by analyzing material needs, labor costs, equipment, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid or Bluebeam. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed to ensure profitability. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, communicate project scope clearly, and negotiate pricing and contract terms effectively. Utilize Sage software and spreadsheets to develop detailed proposals, track estimates, and manage project data efficiently. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to estimate material quantities accurately and identify potential project challenges early on. Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing information, ensure material availability, and control costs. Review construction contracts and ensure all estimates align with contractual obligations and project specifications. Qualifications Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the roofing or broader construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Extensive knowledge of construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) Google Sheets, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings. Skilled in negotiation, client communication, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Ability to read construction drawings thoroughly and estimate material requirements from blueprints accurately. Experience with cost control techniques including material cost estimating and budgeting for commercial roofing projects. Familiarity with contracts, scope of work review, and managing estimation for large-scale commercial projects.
