We are a residential and commercial tree care company built on high standards of safety, quality work, and strong client relationships. We are seeking an accountable, hands-on Field Estimator & Operations Manager who can take ownership of field operations, perform occasional high-end ornamental pruning, and serve as the core link between our clients, office, and field crews.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• On-Site Estimating & Sales (~50%): Conduct property walkthroughs, evaluate tree care scopes, assess site access/hazards, and issue direct, accurate quotes using Jobber.
• Client, Office & Crew Coordination (~20%): Be the main point of contact between clients, the office, and field crews. Keep clients updated, hand off clear job scopes to crews, and handle issues before they become problems.
• Field Work & Pruning (~15%): Perform occasional high-end ornamental pruning, fine-canopy reductions, and specimen tree care from the ground (climbing is not required).
• Operations & Fleet Support (~15%): Assist with daily dispatch, route planning, bulk fuel runs, equipment transport to mechanics, and minor shop/field fixes (e.

g., swapping hydraulic hoses) to minimize downtime.

REQUIRED

• Solid foundation in tree care operations, rigging limits, equipment capabilities, and accurate production-hour estimating.
• Experience bidding crane-assisted removals, including crane sizing, setup, access, and coordinating with crane operators.
• Working knowledge of when permits, utility coordination (Truckee Donner PUD, Liberty Utilities), and traffic control are required, and how to arrange them.
• Practical skill in occasional high-end ornamental ground pruning techniques (no climbing required).
• Strong communication skills with a willingness to be the direct liaison between clients, management, and crews.
• High integrity and sound judgment to exercise full pricing autonomy and handle on-site change orders.
• Tech-savvy with mobile apps/CRMs in the field.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle.

PREFERRED

• ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to certify within 6 months).
• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) for crew alignment.
• Practical mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Direct experience using Jobber

CRM. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to walk steep, uneven, and snow-covered properties in all weather conditions, work outdoors for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

COMPENSATION

• Peak Season Salary:

  $6,000 to $7,000/month, April through November, DOE.

• Off-Season Hourly:

  $30 to $38/hour. Storm and snow-related work varies year to year, and is supplemented with fleet maintenance, estimating, and pre-season sales.

• Year-Round Salary:

  Available after the first season for candidates who build a full off-season workload.

• Performance Commission:

  2% commission on closed jobs when crew efficiency (hours invoiced vs. hours paid) stays above 80%.

• Total Expected Value:

  $65,000 to $90,000+ per year.
