Job Description
Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for customer requests and internal projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, labor, materials, and production processes to support competitive pricing while ensuring profitability, quality, and delivery requirements are met. The Estimator works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams to support business objectives. Location- Yorba Linda, CA Mon-Fri 8am-5pm $27hr DOE Key Responsibilities Estimating & Quoting Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for RFQs, new projects, and existing programs Review Engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to determine labor, material, tools, and overhead cost Develop and maintain accurate estimating models, routing, and pricing documentation Analyze historical data and production standards to support reliable cost projections Collaboration & Support Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams to validate assumptions and timelines Request and evaluate supplier and vendor quotes for materials, outside processing, and tooling Participate in contract reviews and pricing discussions as needed Quality & Documentation Ensure estimates comply with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations Maintain organized and accurate estimating files and databases Identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost improvement Continuous Improvement Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements Assist with updating labor standards, routing, and cost models as processes change Qualification High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred Previous experience as an Estimator in manufacturing/ aerospace environment preferred Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills Proficiency with excel and ERP/ Estimating systems Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Personal Attributes Integrity and dependability with strong sense of urgency and focus on results Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team player Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well with others across departments Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to solving problems Ability to stay focused and use good judgment in day-to-day tasks Company Overview Precise Aerospace Manufacturing - precisemfg.com Precise Aerospace Manufacturing Inc.
