About the Position The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate, competitive budgets and estimates for major construction projects. This position is ideal for an experienced estimator who can independently manage complex estimating assignments while providing leadership and direction to other members of the estimating team. The Senior Estimator will work closely with owners, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal project teams to understand project requirements, develop pricing strategies, evaluate risk, and deliver complete estimates. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of estimating assignments for major and highly complex projects. Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, cost models, and self-perform pricing. Establish estimating strategies, timelines, pricing approaches, and bid requirements. Identify qualified subcontractors and coordinate competitive bidding efforts. Review drawings, specifications, quantities, subcontractor proposals, and other project information. Analyze historical cost information and market data to develop accurate current pricing. Evaluate project scope, identify gaps or risks, and develop appropriate pricing solutions. Coordinate estimating responsibilities among team members and ensure deliverables are accurate and complete. Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the estimating process. Prepare RFIs and obtain clarification on scope and design issues. Assist with project scheduling and building-system decisions. Research project-specific requirements, including permits, taxes, labor agreements, and other applicable considerations. Lead and develop estimating personnel through coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management. Promote consistent estimating practices, accountability, and high professional standards. Requirements 10+ years of construction industry experience , including at least 6 years focused on estimating . Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Demonstrated experience preparing estimates for large, complex construction projects. Ability to interpret construction documents, plans, specifications, and contracts. Experience evaluating subcontractor bids, conducting quantity takeoffs, and developing project pricing. Ability to manage multiple estimates, priorities, and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Professional, customer-focused approach with strong business judgment. Working knowledge of construction law and standard business practices. Proficiency with estimating and takeoff technology such as: ISqFt ICE/Bid2Win On-Screen Takeoff (OST) Bluebeam/PDF Google Earth LEED AP or DBIA certification is preferred.
