Full-Time A well-established Connecticut general contractor is looking to add an experienced mid level to Senior Estimator to its team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong construction background who can confidently manage estimates from initial review through final bid. The ideal candidate will have experience across both competitive bid and design-build projects and a strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and costs. Previous field experience is a major plus. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual through final bid Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and other bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor and material pricing Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals Identify scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities Work closely with project management and field teams throughout preconstruction Support both competitive bid and design-build pursuits Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams Qualifications 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor or Construction Management firm Extensive construction knowledge and understanding of how projects are built Experience with competitive bid and/or design-build projects ; a mix of both is preferred Previous field construction experience is a strong plus Proficiency with construction estimating software and technology Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail Compensation Full benefits package
