OVERVIEW OF ROLE DESCRIPTION
Work with Principal and Project Managers to provide preconstruction services to clients as well as assist with purchasing duties. Collaborate with clients to develop budgets for Conceptual, Schematic and Design Development drawings. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects. Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including scope determinations and accurate quantity survey. Solicit subcontractor and/or vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope, and lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy. Perform risk and contract management as required on bids and review total estimate to ensure accuracy prior to formal quotation. Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs, research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS OSHA 10
Hour Construction Safety Training. Proficiency with Microsoft computer software. Training in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Ability to read Blueprints and Civil Drawings, Specifications, Shop Drawings, and Structural/MEP drawings. Must be able to pass drug and background screening. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction project estimating. Strong construction and marketplace knowledge of RFPs, RFIs, IDIQs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team for multiple projects and pursuits. Knowledge of bid estimating software. Strong desire to win.
