In this role, you will be the driving force behind accurately assessing project costs, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project teams. Your expertise will ensure competitive pricing while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse commercial projects, from initial estimates through project completion, fostering growth and excellence within a vibrant construction environment. Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop precise material and labor estimates for commercial millwork projects. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed proposals that reflect project scope and client requirements. Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information, assess construction site conditions, and verify measurements for accurate costing. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and clients to negotiate pricing terms that balance competitiveness with profitability. Manage cost control throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and adjusting estimates as needed. Prepare comprehensive bid packages including detailed breakdowns of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely procurement of materials at optimal prices while adhering to contractual obligations. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on commercial millwork or related trades. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and clients to secure favorable terms. Construction site experience providing insight into on-the-ground project realities and challenges. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in preparing accurate estimates and bid documentation.
