As we continue to grow our commercial roofing operations, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. About the Position We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator with a strong background in commercial flat roofing systems, blueprint reading, material takeoffs, cost estimating, and competitive bidding. The ideal candidate can independently evaluate roofing projects, interpret construction plans, identify roofing system requirements, calculate accurate material and labor costs, and prepare comprehensive estimates for competitive bid submissions. This position involves both office-based estimating and on-site evaluations of existing commercial roofs. This is a technical estimating position, not a roofing sales position. Direct commercial roofing estimating experience is required. Key Responsibilities Commercial Roofing Estimating & Takeoffs Review architectural drawings, construction blueprints, roofing specifications, and bid documents. Interpret project requirements and identify appropriate roofing systems based on plans, specifications, and existing conditions. Perform detailed material takeoffs for commercial flat roofing projects. Calculate all required roofing materials, including membranes, insulation, cover boards, flashing, adhesives, fasteners, drainage components, and related accessories. Estimate labor hours, crew requirements, equipment, waste factors, and other project expenses. Prepare accurate, itemized estimates for new construction, roof replacements, and commercial reroofing projects. Bidding & Cost Analysis Develop competitive and profitable commercial roofing bids. Review bid invitations, project specifications, and submission requirements. Request, review, and compare pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other expenses. Identify potential cost savings, project risks, and scope discrepancies. Coordinate with management to finalize estimates and submit bids within required deadlines. Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid submissions, and project costs. Site Visits & Roof Evaluations Conduct pre-bid site visits and roof inspections for existing commercial properties. Assess existing roof conditions, measurements, access limitations, drainage, penetrations, and other factors affecting project scope. Identify potential installation challenges and additional work that may need to be included in estimates. Document findings through measurements, photographs, and inspection notes. Project Coordination Communicate with management, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the estimating process. Clarify project scope and resolve discrepancies in plans or specifications. Assist with project handoffs after bids are awarded. Stay informed about roofing materials, installation methods, and applicable Florida building codes. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating. Strong knowledge of commercial flat and low-slope roofing systems Proven experience performing detailed roofing material takeoffs. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze architectural blueprints, construction drawings, and roofing specifications. Experience calculating roofing materials, labor, equipment, and project costs. Experience preparing competitive commercial roofing bids and proposals. Ability to perform on-site roof evaluations and pre-bid walkthroughs. Strong understanding of roofing installation methods and material requirements. Excellent mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet bid submission deadlines. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local job sites. Competitive Base Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated estimating capabilities.

Performance-Based Bonuses:

Opportunity to earn additional compensation for successfully awarded commercial roofing projects. Paid Time Off (PTO)

Benefits:

Employee will become eligible for 5 paid days off upon successful completion of their first 90 days of employment. After completing 12 months of continuous employment, employees will become eligible for 10 paid days off annually, subject to company PTO policies and scheduling approval. 90-

A formal performance evaluation will be conducted after the first 90 days of employment, with the opportunity for consideration for a hybrid work arrangement that combines in-office and work-from-home days.
