Your Role As the Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating process for major pursuits in the heavy civil—bridges, highways, marine infrastructure, deep utilities, and more. You'll play a strategic role in securing work, managing estimating teams, and ensuring that bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with business goals. Our Hobe Sound Office is currently looking for an Estimator Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end estimating process for complex, large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects Develop and enforce estimating standards, templates, processes, and QA/QC protocols Mentor and manage junior estimators, providing oversight, support, and professional development Drive risk assessments, value engineering, alternate approaches, and contingency planning Collaborate closely with internal leadership, designers, clients, and subcontractors during bid phases Play a key role in bid/no-bid decisions and strategic pursuit planning Oversee pricing strategies, subcontractor outreach, scope reviews, and final cost submissions Partner with business development and operations to grow Ferreira's presence and impact in South Florida What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) 10+ years of proven success in heavy civil estimating, ideally in the Florida infrastructure market Demonstrated experience with large, multimillion-dollar DOT, municipal, and public works projects Strong leadership and team-building capabilities Expertise in quantity takeoffs, unit pricing, cost modeling, scheduling input, and scope definition Familiarity with Florida's construction practices, permitting processes, local vendors, and subcontractor network Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously and travel regionally as needed What We Offer Leadership role within a top-tier, fast-growing contractor Opportunity to build and lead the estimating function in a key regional market Direct influence on South Florida's critical infrastructure projects Competitive salary Excellent Benefits which include: Medical, Dental, Health, AFLAC, Health Savings Account and 401(k) with company match, Paid Time Off, and Paid Holidays.
