Job Description
Position Summary The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, institutional, and mission-critical electrical construction projects throughout South Florida. This individual leads the estimating process from concept through bid submission, works closely with project management and business development teams, and mentors junior estimators while maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and identify potential risks. Perform quantity takeoffs using industry-standard estimating software. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing. Analyze value engineering opportunities and recommend cost-saving alternatives. Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client interviews. Coordinate with operations, project managers, and field personnel during the estimating process. Lead bid strategy meetings and participate in bid reviews. Prepare conceptual budgets and design-build estimates from limited drawings. Maintain historical cost databases and estimating standards. Assist with project handoff to operations after award. Mentor and train junior estimators and support continuous improvement initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors. Required Qualifications 8+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction.
