Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Landscape & Irrigation Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for landscape and irrigation construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to landscape and irrigation projects. Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing material requirements, labor needs, equipment costs, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include scope of work, pricing, and project timelines aligned with client expectations. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and during construction phases to ensure cost control and profitability. Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure favorable terms while maintaining project quality standards. Utilize construction management software and Bluebeam for plan review, markup, and document management to streamline estimating processes. Assist in reviewing construction schedules, managing material cost estimates, and interpreting technical drawings for accurate estimation of material requirements from blueprints. Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate effective project planning and execution. Skills Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Strong understanding of construction industry practices specific to commercial landscape and irrigation projects. Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately. Skilled in managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on cost management, cost control, and budgeting. Experience with construction management software including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for spreadsheets and documentation. Effective negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors while fostering positive relationships. Knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating tools used within the industry for material cost estimating. Ability to communicate clearly with clients, team members, and suppliers regarding project scope, costs, and timelines. Construction site experience coupled with strong project management capabilities enhances estimation accuracy and project delivery success.
