Job Description
Heavy Civil Estimator Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join a growing construction team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil estimating experience with DOT experience required and a strong background in heavy civil construction. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, reviewing plans and specifications, and coordinating with internal teams to develop competitive bids. Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil and DOT construction projects Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis Review civil engineering plans, specifications, and bid documents Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor estimates Coordinate with project management, field operations, purchasing, and subcontractors Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Identify project risks, scope gaps, and potential cost savings Assist with bid preparation and submission Maintain organized estimating records and documentation Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Civil/Heavy Civil Estimator DOT construction experience required Strong knowledge of: Asphalt paving Site grading Earthwork Storm drainage Underground utilities Erosion control Concrete and site improvements Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications Strong quantity takeoff and cost estimating skills Proficiency with spreadsheets, estimating tools, and project management software Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously Benefits Competitive base salary up to 140k - dependent on candidate experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Comprehensive health benefits 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Long-term career advancement with a stable, growing contractor Send resume to mitchell.guerrieri@gogpac.com for more information
