Job Description

Project Estimator Ernst Construction is a shell contractor located in Central Florida. We are looking for a Project Estimator to join our team. The Project Estimator is responsible for analyzing plans, gaining the understanding of a project, and roughly calculating labor and material costs needed to complete construction work. Duties
  • Review bid documents to determine the extent of the work scope and develop precise cost estimates and budgeting for a project
  • Conduct detailed take offs of projects from foundation to roof including all aspects of concrete, masonry, rough framing, and interior framing including the equipment (pumps cranes, scaffolding) needed to complete a job
  • Contact subcontractors and vendors to obtain quotes for needed for specific items and review these quotes upon receiving them
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding pricing and bidding information Experience
  • 10 years of field experience knowledge in the Florida shell contracting industry (including interior framing of both wood and metal, coastal construction and light commercial)
  • Knowledge of cast in place concrete, tie beams, structural steel
  • Stack estimating software experience
  • 5 years of estimating experience is a plus but can train the proper candidate
  • Basic computer skills: including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong work ethic and highly accurate attention to detail
