Full-Time Smith & Company Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This is an in-office position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to work with a respected heavy civil and utility contractor. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience, the ability to analyze plans and specifications, and a solid understanding of construction means, methods, and costs. Experience in civil construction, underground utilities, site development, asphalt, or roadway projects is highly preferred. Responsibilities Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Develop labor, equipment, and material pricing. Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities. Assist in preparing competitive bid proposals and schedules. Maintain and update historical cost databases and unit pricing. Coordinate with operations staff during project handoff after award. Support project managers and field teams with estimating-related information. Qualifications 3+ years of construction estimating experience. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and production rates. Experience with HeavyBid, HCSS, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software preferred.
