Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in preparing accurate and competitive roofing project estimates for commercial construction projects. You will work closely with senior estimators and project managers to learn the intricacies of roofing cost analysis, blueprint interpretation, and material requirements, contributing to successful project bids and client satisfaction. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and requirements. Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost estimates. Analyze material costs, labor rates, subcontractor quotes, and equipment needs to develop comprehensive project budgets. Assist in pricing projects by estimating material quantities from blueprints and reviewing subcontractor proposals. Support negotiation efforts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Manage project estimates by maintaining spreadsheets and tracking changes throughout the bidding process. Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with client expectations, contracts, and budget constraints. Contribute to cost control measures during project execution by monitoring expenses and adjusting estimates as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify project details and ensure accurate estimation. Gain hands-on experience in construction site visits, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings for roofing projects. Requirements Basic knowledge of Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Xactimate or similar estimating software is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and cost management. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications related to commercial roofing projects. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Demonstrated interest or experience in the construction industry or construction management is highly desirable. Familiarity with construction site procedures, safety standards, and material estimation techniques is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple estimates simultaneously. Prior experience managing projects as a construction estimator or working within a construction environment will be advantageous but not required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates eager to grow their expertise.
