Job Description

Construction Estimator Smith & Company Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team in Port St. Lucie, Florida. We specialize in underground utilities, site development, roadway improvements, and asphalt construction throughout the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-years experience estimating heavy civil construction projects and be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting vendor and subcontractor pricing, and assisting with the successful bidding of projects. Responsibilities Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents. Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work utilizing Agtek software. Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals using HCSS
  • Heavy Bid.
Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Develop labor, equipment, and material pricing. Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities. Maintain historical cost databases and unit pricing information. Coordinate with operations and project management teams during project handoff. Assist with bid strategy development and project pursuit efforts. Maintain organized bid files and estimating documentation. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of site development and underground utilities construction estimating experience. Minimum 5 years of experience preparing quantity takeoffs using Agtek. Minimum 5 years of experience preparing bid proposals using HCSS
  • Heavy Bid.
Experience in heavy civil construction, underground utilities, site development, roadway construction, or asphalt paving preferred. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and production rates. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Compensation & Benefits $105,000
