Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical project estimates, reviewing construction drawings, and managing cost proposals to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry, demonstrating proficiency with estimating software, electrical codes, and project management principles. Responsibilities Review and interpret electrical construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately assess project scope and requirements. Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools to prepare comprehensive bids. Conduct material cost estimation and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project budgets. Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and local electrical building codes throughout the estimating process. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, identifying potential overruns, and implementing effective cost control measures. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review contracts, scope changes, and project specifications. Review construction drawings for accuracy and completeness; identify potential issues early to mitigate risks. Prepare detailed proposals that include pricing breakdowns, scope of work, and schedule considerations. Maintain thorough documentation of estimates, assumptions, and correspondence for transparency and audit purposes. Experience Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry or related fields. Demonstrated proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, blueprint reading, and interpretation of electrical schematics. Familiarity with construction drawing review processes and electrical blueprint reading standards. Experience managing construction project budgets from initial estimate through completion. Knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards (NFPA 70 compliance), and construction management practices. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Solid understanding of contracts related to electrical work and negotiation strategies. Construction industry experience that includes familiarity with material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and cost management techniques.
