ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

- Commercial Construction Shaffer's Electrical Contracting, Inc. has been in business for 30 years and located in Sanford, Florida.

Summary:

The Estimator will determine the approximate costs of various electrical installations for commercial projects to include estimating, run takeoffs, conduct hard bids, provide detailed budgets, drive vendor pricing, and deliver accurate and competitive proposals that protect margin base.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyzing blueprints to determine how long each contracting job will last. Determine the amount, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project. Determine the amount of labor required to complete each project. Determine the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions. Complete and submit competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines. Evaluating labor and material costs to determine whether it is more feasible to construct electrical components or subcontract the construction of components. Research market prices for project materials and equipment. Must have a valid driver's license and insurable to operate a company vehicle. Ability to communicate with clients to determine the scope of each project. Must be able to identify ways to continually improve cost-estimating procedures to reduce inconsistencies between estimated and actual project cost. All duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have 5-10 years electrical estimating experience coupled with project management software experience. Proficient in the implementation of electrical estimating software is a must. Experience with Blue Beam and Accubid software preferred but not required. Must be able to read and analyze blueprints to determine the electrical needs of various projects and provide solutions to increase profitability and prepare project bids. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Travel is minimal but must be able to travel out of state when needed. Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Must have sound knowledge of electrical codes. Deadline and detail-oriented a must. Exceptional customer service skills. Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
