Job Description

Estimator - Commercial Construction Are you someone who loves the challenge of turning drawings into real, buildable budgets? A leading Atlanta area commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This company has built a strong reputation for integrity, collaboration, and craftsmanship—delivering projects that strengthen the communities they serve. About the Role As an Estimator, you'll play a critical role in the early stages of project development—analyzing plans, pricing materials and labor, and collaborating with design and operations teams to deliver accurate, competitive estimates. You'll help shape strategy and ensure that every proposal reflects both the company's quality standards and the client's vision. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, and values being part of a team that wins work the right way. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for commercial projects. Review drawings, specifications, and other documents to identify scope and constructability considerations. Solicit, evaluate, and manage subcontractor and vendor pricing. Partner with project management and field teams to ensure accurate scope alignment and smooth project handoff. Participate in value engineering and risk analysis discussions to improve project outcomes. Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals to stay current on pricing trends and innovations. Support the preconstruction team in developing strategic bid packages and presentation materials. Qualifications 5+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects with a general contractor. Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Why Join Work with a respected contractor known for stability, repeat business, and long-term client relationships. Collaborative culture where preconstruction is viewed as a strategic partner—not just a support function. Competitive compensation, bonus opportunity, and comprehensive benefits package. Strong pipeline of work across diverse sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial. Growth potential into Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager roles. If you're a detail-driven professional who enjoys the art and strategy of construction estimating, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact with a company that values accuracy, teamwork, and integrity.
