Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be the key driver behind accurate project cost assessments, ensuring our bids are competitive and profitable. Your expertise will help shape successful project outcomes by analyzing blueprints, managing material estimates, and collaborating closely with clients and project teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to commercial construction projects, utilizing your strong estimating skills and construction industry knowledge to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate project costs. Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare precise bids and proposals. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed for accuracy. Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate prices, clarify project scope, and ensure alignment on project expectations. Conduct material cost estimating from blueprints and manage procurement strategies to optimize cost control. Collaborate with project managers to review contracts, manage risk factors, and support project planning and execution. Requirements Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate; familiarity with construction management software is a plus. Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints. Excellent skills in spreadsheets, cost management, pricing strategies, and estimating material requirements from blueprints. Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards. Effective negotiation skills coupled with excellent client communication abilities. Experience in managing budgets for large-scale construction projects with a focus on cost control and material estimation. Construction industry experience including knowledge of heavy civil or commercial building processes is highly desirable.
