Job Description

Commercial HVAC Estimator Location:
Houston, TX Pay:
$80,000 - $120,000 DOE Reports to: Preconstruction/Estimating Leadership We are seeking a results-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator with progressive estimating experience in mechanical construction. Join a Houston market contractor with 20+ years delivering HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, controls, sheet metal, and full lifecycle mechanical services for commercial, healthcare, industrial, hospitality and institutional clients. What You Will Do Lead quantity takeoffs, detailed cost builds, and line-item assemblies for commercial HVAC and mechanical scopes Review plans/specs for ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, insulating, and balancing scopes Prepare complete bid packages for new construction and remodel contracts ($100K-$4M+) Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing Identify value-engineering opportunities while protecting margin Work with leadership to refine pricing assumptions and model historical data What We Expect 3-5+ years commercial HVAC estimating experience Proficiency reading blueprints, specifications, and mechanical details Familiarity with HVAC equipment, chillers, rooftop units, pumps, VAV/controls, and piping systems Strong analytical skills, organized documentation, and estimating software literacy Coachable, detail-oriented, team-focused Why It's a Great Opportunity Full-service mechanical workload with deeper scope than pure HVAC reps Stable backlog and diverse project pipeline Competitive pay with benefits and retirement match Opportunity for growth and preconstruction leadership To apply please send resumes to mitch.johnson@gogpac.com
