HVAC Estimator - Multi-Family New Construction About J.R. Hobbs With over 50 years of proven success, J.R. A person with a great attitude, willingness to learn and desire help our customers solve problems, can-do mindset, learner, team player, technical competence, problem solver to review incoming ITBs (invitations to bid), scope and price out our bid to include parts, equipment and labor and serve as liaison to General Contractor and to internal colleagues after bid award. This role is 55% Reviewing HVAC plans, performing material take-offs, obtaining material quotes, and preparing bid proposals 25% Interfacing with customers to clarify questions and identify customer needs 20% Supporting internal colleagues and transitioning successful bids to our project management team. Education & Experience Must have previous experience in HVAC / mechanical estimation OR HVAC / mechanical project management Understands technical aspects of HVAC / mechanical contracting in multi-family new construction. Skilled listener; asks great questions; able to determine client needs and translate that into workable, cost-effective solutions. Assertive. Reaches out for key information from General Contractor (GC) to ensure our bid meets needs, deadlines etc. Effective relationship builder and negotiator. Demonstrated achievement in attaining goals Microsoft office, Procore, BIM360 and/or Blue Beam proficiency preferred Associates or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree preferred
