We are looking for a Technology Estimator to join our account management team. This person will focus primarily on visiting the offices of clients and prospects, auditing their hardware and infrastructure, and building quotes for our account managers to pitch.   • to medium-sized businesses spanning a variety of industries including dental, law, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, non-profits, and more.
Plus, as you grow and learn, this role offers a natural stepping stone into either an Account Management or Technical Support role, depending on what you enjoy the most. What You'll Do Here are main responsibilities of this role
Visit Offices:
You'll go to the offices of our clients and prospects to audit their current hardware, network setup, and overall IT environment. ‍
Create Quotes:
Research and build quotes for workstations, laptops, network gear, servers, and backups. (Our preferred brands are Dell, Ubiquiti, Synology, Netgate, and more.) ‍
Customize Solutions:
Determine what hardware specs and models each client needs based on their specific industry and use cases ‍ Partner with
Sales:
Work closely with our Account Managers to provide the pricing and technical details they need to sell solutions ‍
Update Our CRM:
Add notes in our CRM software and update quotes as projects progress ‍
Keep Records:
Maintain clean, detailed records of our clients' infrastructure for reference during tech support calls and troubleshooting ‍ Lend a
Helping Hand:
When you're on-site, we may ask you to help with basic support tasks, like setting up a new monitor or rebooting a stubborn device. ‍
Interact With People:
Chat with office staff during visits, communicate with them by email and phone, and represent our company with a positive, helpful, and approachable attitude. Ideal Candidate Here is what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
Tech Literate:
You have a basic understanding of computer parts (like processors, RAM, and storage) and consumer networking equipment (routers, switches, and access points). ‍
Product Connoisseur:
You genuinely geek out about hardware and love researching different brands, product lines, models, and specs. ‍
Eager To Learn:
Your brain is a sponge and you want learn more about IT/ technology. You enjoy diving deep into the details to discover something new. ‍
Problem Solver:
Sometimes the solution isn't always obvious, but you like to find alternatives and pitch them to your team. ‍ Eye for
Detail:
You have excellent organizational skills and a habit of keeping careful, accurate, and diligent notes. ‍
Friendly/Approachable:
You have a friendly vibe and enjoy interacting with clients and coworkers. ‍
Flexible:
You're a team player who is willing to jump in and help when your team is trying to solve a problem for a client. Compensation This position offers a base salary of $40,000 per year, plus commission. Our account management team works together to better serve our clients, which means they split commissions. On top of your base salary, you will receive 5% of the account management team's shared commission pool. Requirements Live in the Greater Des Moines Area Available to work 40 hours a week.
