Summary:
They're looking for a full-time Estimating Manager to join their team. This person will lead a team of estimators in completing Engineered Wood Product bids for the commercial construction segment. They are expected to have strong organization and communication skills. In addition, they will work together with the technical sales team in tailoring the bid scope to the customers' needs. Most of all, they will be committed to our client's "Why" and dedicated to helping the company increase sales. Essential Functions:
Coordinates with estimating team in the assembly and submission of bids Supervises and trains estimators in the preparation of estimates and bids Prepares weekly schedules and assignment of bids to balance workload and meet deadlines Guides estimating team to develop competitive pricing and scope tailored to each opportunity Ensures relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline Has the ability to manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at once Collaborates with the sales team in understanding customer preferences and opportunities Collaborates with Project Managers to ensure a complete project hand-off is achieved Establishes and monitors KPIs for estimating accuracy, throughput, responsiveness, and project quality Identifies process gaps and leads initiatives to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency Drives adoption of new tools, technologies, and estimating methodologies Communicates workload forecasts, staffing needs, and process updates to leadership Cultivates a work culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement Reviews estimates for completeness, accuracy, and risk prior to bid submission Partners with leadership to align estimating strategies with financial and strategic goals Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications): 5+ years' experience as an estimator in the construction field, or equivalent experience in building products sales, construction management, or project management Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred Extensive knowledge of construction estimating methodologies and standards
ASPE/CPE
certification preferred Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract terms with a high degree of accuracy Skilled in performing quantity take-offs and estimating material costs necessary for contract execution Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders Exceptional time management, multitasking, coaching, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated experience managing people, processes, and interdepartmental dynamics Sound judgment and decision-making skills under tight deadlines and competing priorities Experience using estimating software preferred (i.e. Blubeam takeoff tools, Prebuilt ML) Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint Benefits :
