Machining Estimator An established precision manufacturing organization in the Chicagoland area is seeking an experienced Machining Estimator. This is a specialized opportunity for someone who understands machining well enough to look at a print and determine how the part will be manufactured, what processes are required, and what it should realistically cost to produce.
Responsibilities:
Review customer prints, drawings, specifications, and RFQs Develop accurate estimates for machined components Determine appropriate machining and manufacturing processes Estimate labor, machine time, material, tooling, and outside processing Evaluate manufacturing requirements and production feasibility Prepare accurate and competitive quotes Work with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and sales Review historical jobs and production data when developing estimates Help identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities
Qualifications:
Previous machining or manufacturing estimating experience Strong understanding of machining processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and prints Understanding of machine time, tooling, materials, labor, and manufacturing costs Strong attention to detail and numerical ability Precision machining experience strongly preferred Gear manufacturing or gear machining experience is a major plus
Salary:
Up to $95,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits. This is an on-site position. Relocation assistance is not available.
