Role Summary:

The Chief Electrical Estimator will possess hands-on experience in electrical estimating across a wide range of complex commercial and industrial projects. Reporting directly to the President, this role will demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing senior level estimating teams, possess exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable outcomes. Strong business development expertise and the ability to cultivate new and existing client relationships. The Chief Estimator must have a strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to organizational growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership Provide leadership, direction and training for Estimating team members. Manage all aspects of the estimating processes while meeting deadlines and company objectives, both short and long term. Collaborate Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives and senior management. Assign and coordinate estimating requirements to estimating staff for each project based on schedule and project need Operational Excellence & Financial Management Lead the team to provide accurate, complete and competitive pricing. Maintain relationship with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing and build relationships. Oversee the entire estimating process on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities. Review estimates and lead bid review process with management personnel to ensure that bids/estimates are completed on time and with a high degree of quality Manage the accuracy and quality of the estimating Conest database Provide conceptual budgeting advice to clients and project managers based on historical data, past experience, lessons learned, and current labor unit rates; effectively communicate thought process Employee Performance Management & Development Ownership of team performance - Develop, coach, and retain a high-performing leadership team. Manage flow of information within department to ensure it is timely and aids accurate estimates Foster a collaborative culture across field and office teams, focused on accountability, growth, and operational discipline. Support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development Support workforce planning, training, and talent development in collaboration with HR.

Education, Experience and Requirements:

Computerized estimating experience - ConEst preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, expert in Excel BS in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred. 15+ years of progressive electrical contracting or construction experience. 10+ years of electrical estimating experience Exceptional financial acumen, contract negotiation skills, and operational discipline. Experience leading in a growth-focused, fast-paced environment. Strong relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and internal teams.
