Full Job Description About Us Southern Illinois Piping Contractors LLC is a piping and mechanical contractor serving Southern Illinois and the surrounding region. We're growing our estimating team and looking for someone who can take real ownership of our bidding process, working hand-in-hand with our AI-assisted bidding system and our Project Manager. What You'll Do Prepare and generate project bids using our Beam.
AI bidding platform Solicit and compare pricing from vendors and suppliers to build accurate, competitive cost estimates Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work Review plans and specs to determine whether a project will require a bid, performance, or payment bond, and coordinate the bonding process accordingly Confirm service area coverage and logistics for each bid opportunity Prepare and submit bids for ongoing maintenance agreements and service contracts Assist the Project Manager with estimating support, bid tracking, scheduling coordination, and related administrative tasks Maintain organized, accurate records of bids, vendor quotes, and contract documentation Room to Grow This role has a clear path for advancement, strong performers can grow into a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager position as they build experience with our bidding process, vendors, and clients. What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of experience in construction estimating, bidding, or a related role (piping, mechanical, or HVAC industry experience preferred) Familiarity with Beam.
AI or similar AI-assisted estimating/bidding software (training provided) Working understanding of bonding in construction contracting: bid bonds, performance bonds, and payment bonds Comfortable reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications Strong math and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail Solid organizational and time-management skills, able to juggle multiple active bids at once Clear written and verbal communication for coordinating with vendors, the Project Manager, and clients Proficiency with
