Full Job Description Pay:
$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year About M&W Contractors, Inc. M&W Contractors, Inc. is a growing industrial contractor specializing in pipe fabrication, steel erection, equipment setting, concrete foundations, and related industrial construction services, primarily serving the Agricultural Processing industry. We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator / Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in both winning new work and successfully managing projects from estimate through completion. Position Summary The Senior Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for leading the estimating team as they develop accurate and competitive estimates while managing awarded projects through completion and closeout. This position will oversee project budgets, schedules, costs, change orders, customer relationships, and overall project profitability for not only their own projects but the projects of others. The ideal candidate has strong industrial construction experience and understands both how a project is estimated and how it is actually executed in the field. This is a hands-on, in-office position with approximately 25% travel to project sites. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, labor projections, and competitive bids. Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements. Develop project budgets, schedules, and execution plans. Manage projects from contract award through final closeout. Monitor labor, material, equipment, subcontractor costs, and project profitability. Identify, price, negotiate, and manage change orders and extra work. Coordinate customers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, field supervision, and internal teams. Coordinate pipe fabrication, structural steel, equipment setting, and mechanical construction activities. Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and pre-bid meetings. Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships and assist with business development. Utilize Foundation for project management and cost tracking and Microsoft Excel for estimating and analysis. Help improve M&W's estimating, project management, and cost-control processes.
Qualifications Required:
8+ years of industrial construction estimating and/or project management experience. Strong knowledge of industrial piping, pipe fabrication, structural steel, equipment setting, rigging, and mechanical construction. Proven experience preparing detailed estimates and competitive bids. Experience managing project budgets, costs, labor productivity, and profitability. Experience managing change orders and project documentation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and contracts. Strong Microsoft Excel and communication skills. Ability to travel to project sites as required. Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. 10+ years of industrial construction experience. Agricultural processing, grain handling, food processing, ethanol, feed, or similar industrial experience. Foundation or GEAC StarBuilder experience. OSHA 30 or other relevant safety training.
