Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Estimate projects to be the most cost-effective for production and the client while maintaining quality and company profitability. Engineer a manufacturing plan based on written specifications. Manage multiple requests ranging from quotes, alteration estimates, purchasing requests and budget quotes. Consult with Account Services, Sales and Production as to alternatives to producing or estimate projects. Investigate and recommend modifications to enhance quality, functionality and cost savings. Prepare required documentation for the estimate and purchases, including but not limited to the estimate, 3-vendor quotations for each outside purchase, purchase orders and vendor credits. Monitor their own workload and informs management of bottlenecks and or jeopardized deadlines so corrective action can be taken. Acquire paper samples as requested. Maintain paper swatch cabinets. Purchase raw materials as requested by other department managers. Identify vendors to provide products and services that meet our customers' standards. Perform other duties as requested, directed and assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree or Experience Described Below 5+ years of estimating experience in sheet-fed printing, folding carton estimating, or point of purchase display estimating and/or production experience Prior experience with Pre-Press, Pressroom and bindery, folding and gluing, die cutting and hand assembly Understanding of graphics principles and a good working knowledge of the entire process Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
