The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects while working directly with customers to identify their needs and develop practical solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical estimating, construction practices, electrical codes, material costs, and project requirements. Design-build and problem-solving experience are required. Our customers range from residential to commercial and industrial clients , providing a wide variety of projects and challenges. The ideal candidate will be comfortable evaluating existing conditions, determining the appropriate scope of work, developing solutions, and preparing accurate estimates based on field information and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and detailed electrical estimates for service-based, design-build, residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Evaluate customer needs, existing electrical systems, and site conditions to determine the appropriate scope of work. Develop practical electrical solutions when projects do not include blueprints, drawings, or complete specifications. Review and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, specifications, and other project documentation when available. Determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements for each project. Research and calculate material costs using current market pricing, supplier quotes, and company pricing information. Prepare professional proposals and estimates that clearly communicate the scope of work, exclusions, assumptions, and pricing. Ensure estimates comply with applicable electrical codes, building codes, safety requirements, and industry standards. Communicate directly with customers to understand project requirements, answer questions, explain proposed solutions, and clarify the scope of work. Work closely with project managers, electricians, suppliers, and other team members to ensure estimates are accurate and practical to execute. Assist with design-build projects by developing electrical solutions based on customer needs, site conditions, and applicable codes. Identify potential project issues, material requirements, installation challenges, and cost considerations before work begins. Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, supplier quotes, customer communications, and project documentation. Utilize Microsoft Office and other estimating or project management software to prepare estimates, proposals, reports, and documentation. Follow up on proposals as needed and assist with converting estimates into successful projects. Required Experience & Qualifications Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the electrical construction, service, or contracting industry. Strong electrical construction and field experience with the ability to understand how electrical work is installed. Demonstrated design-build experience is required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions based on customer needs and existing site conditions. Experience estimating projects where blueprints or formal drawings may not be available . Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, building codes, and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, specifications, and other technical documents. Experience calculating labor and material requirements and developing accurate project costs. Knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, installation methods, and current market pricing. Construction industry experience, including familiarity with project workflows and coordination between field and office personnel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities while meeting deadlines.
