Responsibilities Develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project scopes. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals and manage project budgets efficiently. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and cost control assessments to ensure competitive yet profitable bids. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to negotiate contracts, scope of work, and pricing terms. Review construction contracts to understand project requirements, risk factors, and compliance standards. Assist in managing project budgets during construction phases by monitoring costs and implementing effective cost control measures. Support project management teams with accurate estimates that align with project timelines, resources, and client expectations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials pricing, labor costs, and regulatory requirements affecting commercial construction estimates. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating within the commercial sector, demonstrating strong knowledge of construction processes and materials. Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred. Solid understanding of construction site operations, management practices, and contract administration. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms. Familiarity with cost control techniques to monitor project expenses throughout the construction lifecycle. Hands-on experience in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for accurate quantity takeoffs. Prior involvement in project management or construction management roles is a plus but not required; a strong foundation in construction estimating is essential.
