About the Role - Transmission Estimator We are seeking a talented Transmission Estimator with a strong background in utility construction and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for independently developing cost estimates and resource requirements with a primary focus on utility transmission capital and maintenance construction projects across the United States. What You'll Do Review plans, specifications, and drawings to perform transmission material take-offs and analyze costs to develop construction cost estimates. Assist with the assembly of project proposals including supporting documentation, bid forms, project schedules, and final proposal reviews prior to submission. Support project teams in scoping engineering, construction, and contractual requirements. Prepare conceptual and indicative project estimates based on limited information and high-level scopes of work. Develop detailed post-approval project estimates based on company standards and site-specific requirements. Develop project schedules and analyze labor, equipment, tooling, material, and manpower requirements for each project. Lead and participate in comprehensive bid review meetings with executive leadership, operations teams, project management, and field personnel. Provide expert judgment and pricing support for competitive bids and negotiated contracts. Assist with the development and maintenance of historical cost databases and estimating tools. Provide pre-construction support and technical expertise to project management teams during project turnover. Review scopes, specifications, and drawings to determine subcontractor requirements. Develop RFQs and evaluate subcontractor proposals for scope gaps and commercial alignment. Interface with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to support accurate project pricing and execution strategies. Visit project sites and customer locations as required to evaluate project conditions and constructability requirements. Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings and effectively present project solutions to clients and stakeholders. Analyze project-specific safety requirements, regulatory standards, and code compliance considerations. Work collaboratively as part of an integrated Operations and Estimating team to secure and execute projects successfully. Ensure seamless turnover of awarded projects from estimating to operations teams. What You'll Bring Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships. High level of professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with estimating software, project management tools, and construction systems. Strong understanding of transmission construction methodologies, electrical systems, and utility industry standards. Exposure to utility, renewable energy, battery storage, or related infrastructure markets is considered a plus. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred. 3-5 years of estimating, project management, or relevant field experience within the utility transmission construction industry preferred.
