Jobsite Oversight & Communication Perform detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and shop drawings for framing, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and millwork scopes. Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative methods or materials to improve competitiveness. Mentor and review the work of junior estimators; support development of estimating standards and templates. Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks as needed to assess project conditions and scope. Maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to support accurate and timely pricing. Represent the company at networking events to ensure relationships are established and built, while also being an active part of the regional construction industry. Financial & Budget Management Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive and complete pricing. Prepare and present bid proposals, budgets, and change order pricing within established deadlines. Collaborate with preconstruction, project managers, and superintendents to review estimates prior to project handoff and support buyout. Maintain awareness of the company's budget and establish proper pricing to support the budget. Understand construction pricing and be able to quote minor changes. Develop complete, accurate cost estimates including labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
