Some estimators simply price the plans. The great ones see what others miss. They catch the scope gap. They know when a number doesn't make sense. They understand the market, recognize the right opportunities, and can put together a bid that is competitive and profitable. That's who we're looking for. Teague Electric is looking for an experienced Commercial Electrical Estimator to help drive the continued growth of our Commercial Division throughout the Kansas City market. For more than 45 years, we've built our reputation on quality work, strong relationships, and doing business the right way. Now we're looking for an estimator who wants to help us build what's next. This isn't a Project Manager position disguised as an estimating job. Your focus is estimating, pursuing the right opportunities, and helping Teague win profitable commercial work. What's In It for You? $80,000•100,000 Base + Commission & Bonus Opportunities Your experience matters—and so does your ability to help us win.
We offer:
$80,000•100,000 base salary, depending on experience Commission and bonus opportunities in addition to base salary 401(k) with company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid and voluntary life insurance Short•and long-term disability coverage Paid time off and paid holidays Employee Assistance Program Additional voluntary benefits What You'll Own You'll play a key role in deciding what we chase, how we price it, and how we win it.
You'll:
Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents and understand the complete scope Perform detailed electrical takeoffs and develop accurate, competitive estimates Build labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Spot scope gaps, risk, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities before they become problems. Manage multiple bids and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks when needed Track bid results and use that information to sharpen future estimates Build relationships with general contractors, vendors, and industry partners Help identify commercial opportunities that make sense for Teague Work with Commercial leadership on bid strategy and final review Deliver a clean, thorough handoff to Project Management when we win Keep a pulse on material pricing, labor conditions, competitors, and the Kansas City construction market We're Looking for More Than Someone Who Can Do Takeoffs Software can count fixtures. We need someone who can think. Someone who understands commercial electrical construction well enough to look at a set of plans and know where to dig deeper. Someone who understands that the lowest number isn't always the best number—and that winning the wrong job isn't winning. You may be a great fit if you have: Proven commercial electrical estimating experience Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience developing estimates from takeoff through final proposal Knowledge of labor units, material pricing, and commercial electrical construction costs Strong attention to detail and a healthy respect for deadlines The ability to manage multiple bids at once Strong communication and relationship-building skills Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code Experience with electrical estimating software Knowledge of the Kansas City commercial construction market and established industry relationships are a definite plus. What Winning Looks Like at Teague Success isn't measured by how many bids you push out the door. It's measured by the quality of the opportunities we pursue, the accuracy of the estimates we produce, and the profitable work we put on the board. When Teague wins a project, our Project Managers and field teams should be able to look at your estimate and know they have a solid foundation to execute from. That's the standard. Ready for Something Bigger? Teague Electric has been part of the Kansas City electrical industry for more than four decades—but we're not interested in standing still. We're investing in our people, strengthening our Commercial Division, and pursuing bigger opportunities. We're looking for an estimator who wants to be part of that growth—not someone who just wants another desk and another stack of plans. If you know commercial electrical estimating, know how to compete, and get some satisfaction out of seeing your number turn into a project—we should talk. Bring us your experience. Bring us your competitive edge. Let's build something worth winning. Teague Electric Construction, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Teague Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
