Position Summary American Industrial Contractors is seeking an experienced Senior Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating structural steel and miscellaneous metals for commercial and industrial projects. This individual will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, preparing detailed estimates, and helping secure profitable projects. This position plays a critical role in the continued growth of our structural steel division. Responsibilities Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Perform complete quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and field personnel during the estimating process. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, value engineering opportunities, and potential risks. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required. Maintain estimating databases, pricing history, and bid documentation. Assist in project handoff to operations after award. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Support business development efforts and identify new bidding opportunities. Qualifications 5+ years of estimating experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals. Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection practices. Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings. Experience estimating commercial and industrial construction projects. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with estimating software such as Tekla EPM, FabSuite, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or similar platforms is preferred. Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and industrial construction is a plus.
