MBS Metal Building Estimator

Hercules Sheet Metal & Metal Buildings is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Metal Building Estimator with strong experience using MBS (Metal Building Software) . This role is critical to our sales and production pipeline, responsible for producing accurate, competitive quotes for pre-engineered metal building systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and has a deep understanding of metal building systems, components, and pricing strategies. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely estimates for pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs) using MBS Interpret architectural drawings, engineered plans, and customer specifications Perform material takeoffs including: Primary and secondary framing, Roof and wall systems, Trim and accessories, Fasteners and components. Work closely with sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies Review and validate all quotes for accuracy before release Communicate directly with customers and contractors to clarify project scope Coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility Track and manage multiple estimates simultaneously with strict deadlines Maintain organized records of all estimates and revisions Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Metal Building Estimator (PEMB industry required) Strong proficiency in MBS (Metal Building Software) - required Solid understanding of: Metal building systems and components, Structural layouts and building design, Industry terminology and standards Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Preferred Qualifications Experience working for a metal building manufacturer or supplier Knowledge of pricing, margins, and competitive bidding strategies Familiarity with: Galvalume and galvanized materials Panel systems (R Panel, AG panels, standing seam, etc.) Experience with CRM or estimating pipeline systems Performance Expectations Produce accurate, error-free estimates with minimal revisions Maintain fast turnaround times on quotes Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously Contribute to increasing sales volume and win rate Communicate clearly and proactively with team and customers Compensation Competitive salary based on experience Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company Work with a team backed by 80+ years in the steel building industry Why Join Hercules Metal Buildings?
