Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will lead the estimation process from initial concept through final bid, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive and accurate construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work. Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as Buildertrend or Xactimate to prepare detailed cost proposals. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, material pricing, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor bids Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms while maintaining quality standards. Assist in the review and management of construction contracts, ensuring all terms align with project budgets and company policies. Support project management teams with risk assessments, value engineering initiatives, and schedule planning to optimize project delivery. Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, bid submissions, and contractual documentation for future reference. Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, innovative construction techniques, and regulatory changes Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of residential or commercial projects. Proficiency in estimating software such as Buildertrend Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve win-win outcomes. Solid knowledge of construction processes, site management practices, contracts, and cost control methodologies. Hands-on construction site experience is highly desirable to enhance understanding of field conditions impacting estimates. Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders simultaneously. Excellent communication skills for clear presentation of estimates and negotiation discussions. Familiarity with construction management principles and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
