Entry-Level Commercial HVACR Estimator Advance Air & Heat is a family-owned business that has been providing HVAC/R service, maintenance and installation to commercial, industrial, public & private institutions in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 1986. With a long history and great reputation, Advance is growing and we're looking for a new member for our team. We are currently looking for a motivated Entry-Level Commercial HVAC Estimator who is willing to learn and growing with our team. This position is responsible for managing our preventive maintenance renewals, generating new maintenance agreements, and will assist in HVAC & Refrigeration retrofits and design-build projects. We have a great team of estimators and installers and are looking for someone open to learning who will become a pivotal member of our team's future growth and success!
Entry-Level Commercial HVACR Estimator Work Hours :
Full time hours
  • 40 hours per week
Pay Scale :
$25-30 per hour, depending on experience and performance

Position Summary :
Assist estimators in planning, coordinating and managing Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration Install projects. Analyze renewing Maintenance Contracts and provide renewal pricing based on findings. Price new Maintenance Contracts. Price repair quotes with assistance from field technicians. Identifying the necessary labor, equipment, materials, tools, subcontractors, and other resources to effectively perform the scope of work and price accordingly.
Job responsibilities:
  • Achieve annual sales and net profit per job targets while providing customers with outstanding value and service
  • Analyze Maintenance Contracts and provide renewal pricing based on findings.
  • Conduct site visits to collect equipment model & serial, filter and belt sizes and other pertinent maintenance information to price new Maintenance Contracts. Must be comfortable with climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Utilize pricing and sales tools effectively to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunity within accounts
  • Collaborate with internal staff, technicians and external vendors, to deliver quality results
  • Generate timely and accurate emergency repair quotes with information from field technicians and additional site visits, as needed.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy meetings and post construction meetings, as requested
  • Prepare documents as part of the construction process (RFI, RFP, Change orders, estimates, etc.)
  • Develop long-term relationships and build partnerships with customers, co-workers and suppliers
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Sales experience in commercial HVAC for 1-2 years is preferred.
  • Building systems knowledge, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, piping, duct work, and installation
  • Must be willing to learn commercial building codes for mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Must be willing to learn to read and understand drawings, solicit subcontractors and price material and equipment
  • Willingness to learn to take detailed take-offs from drawings
  • Ability to work with General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers on design-build projects which include budgeting and pricing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Must be self-motivated to achieve annual goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory
  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders, using aerial lifts and/or working in confined spaces
  • Pass background check and drug screen
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
Desired Education/Certifications:
BA/BS degree with 1-2+ years relevant experience
