Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and own the successful execution of the estimation through project close process of detailed machining products. The Estimator will work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and the Production team to complete project estimations for customer proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills, an ownership for process improvement, and a proactive approach to managing all phases of the estimation process. Duties Review RFQs, drawings, and specs to define project scope and requirements Prepare accurate and comprehensive materials and labor cost estimates for detailed CNC machined parts using an ERP software platform. Review detailed customer drawings and technical specifications to interpret project scope and costs Identify potential opportunities for cost-saving. Manage project timelines by coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and timely project delivery. Utilize our ERP Scheduling software to schedule and track project progress, update estimates, and generate reports for stakeholders. Maintain records of estimates, assumptions, and historical data for subsequent use and monthly metrics measuring Manage change orders effectively to control costs and minimize delays.

Cost Analysis:

Compare estimated vs. actual costs to improve future accuracy and support continuous improvement initiatives Assist in customer communication to provide technical expertise and updates on project status Work with purchasing to get updated material prices and lead times. Skills Understanding and use of CAD drawings Proficient with ERP/MRP estimating software, CAD/CAM 2-5 years' experience estimating in a CNC Machine manufacturing environment Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proven ability to multitask and manage concurrent projects efficiently. Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite, email correspondence and video conferencing Experience with bill of materials and manufacturing processes / methods Capable of working independently and proactively taking initiative A strong work ethic and high motivation level Education and Experience Associates degree or experience equivalent in a technical field or 2-year technical certification or equivalent related engineering experience Some previous work experience in engineering or related manufacturing environments. Additional Skills / Attributes Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study Solid background in manufacturing and CNC machining Process Improvement principles Demand planning Physical Job Requirements Ability to sit and walk throughout an eight- to nine-hour workday. Ability to perform repetitive hand movements associated with computer work. Close visual acuity sufficient to review drawings, specifications, and computer-based information, with or without corrective lenses. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts in the manufacturing plant. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles associated with metalworking processes and oils. Occasional exposure to elevated noise levels in the plant; hearing protection is required in designated areas.
