Job Description

Are you an experienced estimator with a background in commercial architectural millwork ? Are you looking for an opportunity to join a fast-paced, innovative, and continuously growing company where your experience and attention to detail make a direct impact? Continental Woodcraft is a second-generation, women-owned commercial millwork manufacturer specializing in high-end, custom architectural millwork and casework . We work on projects across healthcare, government, education, retail, restaurants, and residential developments. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate understands commercial millwork, can confidently interpret architectural drawings and specifications, and has the ability to develop accurate, competitive bids from project documents. This is a collaborative role working closely with our project management, engineering, production, purchasing, vendors, and field installation teams to ensure our estimates accurately reflect the scope and requirements of each project. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, finish schedules, elevations, details, and related project documents. Prepare accurate and detailed material and labor takeoffs for commercial architectural millwork and casework. Develop comprehensive project estimates based on project scope, drawings, specifications, and bid requirements. Utilize INNERGY to develop and manage estimates. Identify materials, hardware, finishes, fabrication requirements, installation requirements, and other costs necessary to produce a complete and accurate estimate. Obtain and evaluate pricing from material vendors, subcontractors, specialty fabricators, and field installation partners. Coordinate with vendors and field installers to ensure all required costs are captured in the estimate. Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions, and potential project risks during the estimating process. Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other internal teams to clarify scope and develop accurate project pricing. Prepare and submit professional bid proposals to general contractors in accordance with project requirements and deadlines. Maintain accurate estimating records and supporting documentation. Assist with post-bid reviews, scope clarifications, and revisions as needed. Manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Stay current on material pricing, manufacturing methods, labor requirements, and industry trends that may impact project costs. Qualifications & Experience 2+ years of commercial architectural millwork estimating experience preferred. Strong understanding of commercial millwork and casework, including materials, construction methods, fabrication, finishing, hardware, and installation. Proven ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. Experience preparing detailed takeoffs and estimates for custom commercial millwork projects. Strong understanding of the relationship between design, fabrication, installation, labor, and material costs. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, are required. Experience with computer-based estimating, takeoff, or ERP systems is strongly preferred. Experience with INNERGY, Bluebeam, Autodesk Takeoff, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms is a plus. Ability to work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate and timely pricing. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Positive, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
