This is an opportunity to play a key role in pricing and securing a diverse range of projects including data centers, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, mission critical infrastructure, and large-scale electrical installations. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing accurate estimates for projects ranging from small tenant improvements to multi-million-dollar electrical construction programs. What You'll Be Doing Lead Electrical Estimating Efforts Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. Analyze construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid packages. Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, low voltage, switchgear, generators, and related electrical systems. Develop conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates. Produce value engineering recommendations and cost-saving alternatives. Identify scope gaps, potential risks, and pricing opportunities before bid submission. Preconstruction & Bid Management Coordinate bid deliverables and pricing information with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Compare pricing proposals and ensure complete scope coverage. Prepare bid summaries, alternates, clarifications, and pricing breakdowns. Participate in bid review meetings with executive leadership and operations teams. Technical Analysis & Project Review Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and contract documents. Evaluate constructability and project execution strategies during preconstruction. Assist in developing labor productivity assumptions and material pricing strategies. Support design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid project pursuits. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized electronic estimating records and historical cost databases. Prepare estimate recap sheets, budgets, and proposal documentation. Ensure all estimates are submitted accurately and within project deadlines. What We're Looking For Required Experience 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator, Sr. Electrical Estimator, or Preconstruction professional. Proven experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects. Background estimating projects ranging from approximately $100K to $100M+. Experience collaborating with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and construction leadership teams.
Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of:
Electrical distribution systems Switchgear and switchboards UPS and backup power systems Lighting and controls Low voltage systems Mission critical infrastructure Commercial and industrial construction methods Ability to review and interpret: One-line diagrams Electrical drawings Specifications Bid packages Construction contracts Software Experience Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred: ConEst Accubid Trimble Bluebeam On-Screen Takeoff (OST) Excel Procore Education Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
