Full-Time Position Overview The Estimator position is an intermediate-level role within the Estimating career path. This position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and managing projects across residential, commercial, and industrial restoration services. The Estimator will meet with clients, develop competitive estimates using Xactimate, oversee projects through completion, monitor budgets, and communicate project progress with clients and management. This role also reviews invoices and labor costs to ensure accurate job costing and participates in ongoing professional development to advance within the estimating career track. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with local referral sources, including insurance adjusters, property managers, business owners, municipalities, and other key contacts. Create accurate floor plans using Xactimate Sketch. Prepare detailed estimates, proposals, change orders, and revisions using company standards. Maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable local building codes. Develop and manage project budgets, addressing cost overruns proactively. Create and maintain construction schedules while coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely project completion. Identify scheduling conflicts and recommend solutions to keep projects on track. Demonstrate proficiency in mitigation, containment, source removal, decontamination, structural cleaning, demolition, ventilation, deodorization, and contents restoration. Review invoices and labor costs regularly to ensure accurate monthly job costing. Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs, including Xactimate certification preparation. Work independently while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously. Maintain company vehicle inspections, cleanliness, and safe operating condition. Complete accident, injury, and incident reports accurately and promptly. Utilize strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to support project success. Maintain clear verbal and written communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives that promote operational excellence. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Requirements Develop and maintain a book of business appropriate to the Estimator level. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, insurance adjusters, consultants, and clients. Prepare project scopes and negotiate estimates with customers. Produce estimates using company formatting standards within Xactimate. Coordinate emergency response services as needed, including board-ups, water, fire, smoke, and vandalism losses. Identify and document potential jobsite hazards such as asbestos, mold, and lead-based paint. Demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, and excellent customer service at all times. Ensure compliance with insurance program requirements and industry standards. Work effectively under deadlines while managing multiple priorities. Exercise attention to detail while protecting customer property and confidential information. Participate in company-sponsored operational and safety training. Qualifications Fluent in written and spoken English. Working knowledge of
MSDS/SDS
documentation and jobsite safety requirements. Extensive customer service experience. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Proficiency with Xactimate estimating software. Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Strong understanding of restoration estimating and construction processes. Physical Requirements Frequently lift more than 50 pounds without assistance. Sit for extended periods of time. Perform repetitive keyboard and computer tasks. Bend, crouch, kneel, and stand as required throughout the workday. Compensation & Benefits Our Client offers a competitive compensation package with an annual salary ranging from $70,000-$80,000 , plus opportunities for commission and additional performance-based compensation.
