Job Description

Estimator (Mechanical & Plumbing) Overview We are seeking a motivated Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating efforts for mechanical and plumbing construction projects. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop technical estimating skills while working closely with senior estimators, project managers, and operations teams. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing cost estimates for mechanical and/or plumbing construction projects Perform quantity takeoffs using construction drawings, MEP specifications, and bid documents Enter and manage estimate data using estimating software and Excel Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations Support bid preparation, documentation, and proposal submissions Maintain well-organized estimating files, cost databases, and documentation Participate in internal estimate reviews and project handoff meetings Learn and apply established estimating procedures, standards, and best practices Requirements 1+ year of experience in construction estimating or a related role (mechanical or plumbing preferred) Working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., Quote Express, AutoBid/AutoBid Pro) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and MEP specifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Field experience in mechanical or plumbing construction Interest in long-term career growth within estimating or preconstruction Professional, customer-focused mindset Additional Information Full-time, onsite position Typical working hours: 7:00 AM
