Job Description The Estimator will:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for federal construction projects from concept through final bid. Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed pricing strategies. Leverage existing subcontractor relationships to obtain competitive pricing and build strong bid coverage. Coordinate with project teams, operations leadership, and preconstruction staff throughout the estimating process. Review and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope completeness and value. Assist in developing budgets, cost studies, and project pricing recommendations. Mentor and support a junior estimator, helping strengthen overall team performance. Utilize Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office to manage takeoffs, documentation, and estimate preparation. Participate in bid reviews and collaborate with leadership to ensure successful project pursuits. The Successful Applicant A successful Estimator should have: 5-7 years of estimating experience within a general contracting environment. Federal construction project experience. Strong network of subcontractors within the Washington, DC/Maryland market. Experience preparing estimates for large-scale construction projects. Proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
