Project Managers & Estimators - Commercial Construction 📍 Gaithersburg, MD 🟢 Direct Hire Opportunities with Superior Skilled Trades Superior Skilled Trades is currently seeking experienced Project Managers and Estimators for direct hire opportunities with an established construction company in the Gaithersburg, MD area. We are looking for construction professionals who have a strong foundation in either project management or estimating. Industry-specific experience is not required—we are most interested in candidates who understand commercial construction, have strong construction fundamentals, and are looking for an opportunity to grow with an established organization. Project Manager Responsibilities Manage construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and milestones. Monitor project costs, forecasts, profitability, and overall financial performance. Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and clients. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation. Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Coordinate procurement and monitor long-lead materials. Manage subcontractor and vendor performance. Identify and resolve schedule, cost, and field issues. Maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders. Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and financial expectations. Support project turnover and closeout. Estimator Responsibilities Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs. Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor costs. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing. Prepare project budgets, bids, proposals, and supporting documentation. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential cost impacts. Review addenda, RFIs, and drawing revisions. Participate in pre-bid meetings and scope reviews. Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities. Work closely with Project Management and Operations during project handoff. Track historical costs and project performance to improve future estimating accuracy. Qualifications 5+ years of construction Project Management or Estimating experience preferred. Strong commercial or specialty construction background. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, costs, and project execution. Project Managers should have experience with budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and client relationships. Estimators should have experience with takeoffs, labor and material pricing, vendor/subcontractor quotes, bid preparation, and cost analysis. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience with construction management, estimating, or takeoff software preferred. Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel experience is a plus.
