Clear succession path to become VP of Estimating within 2-3 years About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a growing and highly respected construction organization. This is a unique opportunity for a proven estimating professional who is looking for long-term career growth and executive-level leadership potential. The individual selected for this role will work closely with company leadership and is expected to develop into the successor for the VP of Estimating within the next 2-3 years. This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, leadership visibility, and the opportunity to play a critical role in driving company success through accurate budgeting, strategic bid development, and estimating excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial construction projects. Analyze plans, specifications, subcontractor proposals, and other project documentation. Develop conceptual, schematic, design-development, and final construction estimates. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids. Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, clients, architects, and engineers. Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and contract negotiations. Maintain and improve estimating processes, databases, and historical cost information. Mentor junior estimators and help build a high-performing estimating team. Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and preconstruction initiatives. Qualifications 8+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably within commercial construction. Proven track record of preparing competitive and accurate project estimates. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and market conditions. Experience with conceptual budgeting, hard bids, negotiated work, and GMP projects. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Preferred Experience Experience leading large, complex commercial construction projects. Team leadership or mentoring experience. Experience working directly with executive leadership. Desire and capability to move into a future executive leadership role.
