We specialize in installing, servicing, and maintaining heavy commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, make-up air units, ductwork, piping, and building controls. We are looking for a detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator who understands commercial HVAC equipment, can accurately develop project costs, and can move quickly from site assessment to proposal. Family-owned and independently operated since 1985 Established commercial and industrial customer base across Metro Detroit Stable, year-round business High-volume commercial service and replacement work Opportunity to work closely with experienced HVAC technicians and operations teams Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunity What You'll Do Visit commercial job sites to assess existing HVAC equipment and determine replacement requirements Develop accurate estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC replacement projects Perform material, labor, equipment, crane, and subcontractor takeoffs Price projects according to company pricing and margin standards Review equipment requirements, installation scope, and project specifications Prepare detailed quotes and proposals with clear scopes of work Turn quotes around within approximately 48 hours when project information is available Follow up on submitted proposals and communicate with customers regarding scope Hand awarded projects over to operations with a clear scope, material list, labor budget, and project expectations Identify potential scope gaps, equipment requirements, and job costs before proposals are submitted What We're Looking For 3+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience, or strong commercial HVAC field experience with the ability and interest to transition into estimating Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs, boilers, chillers, make-up air units, ductwork, and piping Experience estimating commercial equipment replacements Ability to perform or review material, labor, crane, and subcontractor takeoffs Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, drawings, and specifications Estimating or takeoff software experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential scope and cost issues Ability to work effectively between the office, customer sites, technicians, and operations Who Thrives Here?
